100 Women of Yankton is a group of 100 (or more) women who care deeply about their community and want to make a local impact.

Making an impact in our community by joining together. After 12 distribution events our amazing group has donated over $194,350 to local organizations.

When it comes to giving back to their community, 100 Women of Yankton believes women collectively coming together with small donations can be more powerful and make a bigger impact than individually. This group of women gathers twice a year for a meeting. Each member writes a $100 check to a charity that the group selects during the meeting. This combined donation of $10,000 (or more) makes a real impact to an organization or non-profit in need. The mission and hope of 100 Women of Yankton is to provide for those in greatest need in the Yankton community. 100 Women of Yankton does not seek to replace any member’s current giving to other organizations or non-profits, this would be in addition to their current generosity.

This is How it Works

  • Members can nominate a nonprofit or cause they feel passionately about via Nomination Forms which are submitted to the Steering Committee at 100WomenYankton@gmail.com.
  • Five unduplicated nominations will be randomly selected.
  • The nominating member will give a five minute presentation about the organization and why the organization was nominated.
    Present members will vote via ballet and one of the five minute projects will be the recipient of $10,000.
  • Each member, whether present or not, will write a $100 check to the selected nonprofit.
